BACKGROUND

The individual cohorts are not adequately powered to study ethnic differences in gene-environment interactions in diseases of public health significance. The Consortium aims at forming a large multi-ethnic cohort, with similar study protocol, consent procedures and IT, laboratory and tissue storage platforms.

OBJECTIVES

Discover gene-environment interactions of clinical and public health significance.

METHODS

Legend Yes No Unknown

General design

Study design Cohort
Type of participants Individuals
Target or final number of participants 22000
SCCS will recruit 22,000 participants in this initial phase of the project. The plan is to eventually recruit a much larger cohort of Singaporeans over the next 10-20 years and maybe even longer.
Target or final number of DNA No information available
