    OBJECTIVES

    Increase knowledge of
    1) the importance of environmental factors during childhood for development of obesity, glucose intolerance, Type 1 and 2 diabetes in children, especially factors like growth, nutrition, psycho-social stress, physical exercise.
    2) how genetic factors interact with the above-mentioned environmental factors.
    3) whether intervention in schools can change life style and prevent obesity, glucose intolerance and diabetes.
