Biobank Science in theory and practice
This section aims to provide access to technical and scientific information in different domains of biobanking, in order to support investigators and biobank administrators in the development and realization of their activities.

The interface is designed in three different levels:

• The first level regards the different domains of biobanking: Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Sample Collection and Processing, Data Collection and Processing domains form a common group under the bioscience section. Ethics, Governance and Public Engagment, Project Administration and Information and Communication Technology domains are also represented.
• The second level applied only to the bioscience section and refers to the Life-Cycle for each domain, starting with the Conceptualization (building the idea of the project); Design and Conduct (developing the sample and data collection tools and infrastructures and conducting the information collection); Analysis (exploiting of the information collected) and Dissemination (disseminating results).
• The third level refers to three categories of tools and information. General references, guidelines, standards and norms are included in the "In theory" category. The category "In Practice" includes tools, standards operating procedures, questionnaires and reports used or produced by specific biobanks. Finally, the category "IT Tools" gives access to software of interest.
