Additional comments There are 2 other versions of the PHQ Screener: the Brief PHQ Screener (which assesses depression, anxiety, psychological stressors, and women's reproductive health) and the PHQ-9 Depression Screener, a tool specific to depression, developed for use in primary care (it is a self-administered version of the Primary Care Evaluation of Mental Disorders (PRIME-MD) diagnostic instrument developed in the mid-1990s by R.L. Spitzer and K. Kroenke at Columbia University). There is also a truncated form of the K10, in which four questions have been deleted, called the Kessler-6 Scale (K6).
